HAYATI, TIKA NUR. 2025.An Analisis of Teachers’s Creativity in the Process of Teaching English at SMKN 1 Sebulu Filial Selerong in Academic Year 2025/2026. Thesis Departement of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Tenggarong: University of Kutai Kartanegara. Teacher creativity plays an essential role in enhancing students’ learning motivation, as creative teachers are able to develop new ideas and innovative teaching strategies that support effective and enjoyable learning. This study is motivated by the need to understand how teacher creativity contributes to the quality of English language instruction at SMKN 1 Sebulu Filial Selerong. The purpose of this research is to analyze the creativity of English teachers in the learning process and to identify specific creative teaching methods applied during instruction. The research focuses on examining how creativity is demonstrated in classroom practices and the types of creative strategies employed to support student learning.

This study used a descriptive qualitative design. The research subject was one English teacher at SMKN 1 Sebulu Filial Selerong. Data were collected through interviews and documentation, and the analysis focused on indicators of creativity such as classroom management, creative media use, teaching methods, motivational strategies, ice breakers, lesson planning, and evaluation practices. The findings showed that the teacher demonstrated creativity in several key aspects of teaching. These include well-structured lesson design, effective classroom management based on empathy and positive communication, the use of varied teaching methods to match students’ interests and abilities, the integration of ice breakers and games such as Two Truths and a Lie to increase engagement, and the use of comprehensive written and non-written evaluations supported by reflective feedback.

The study concludes that although the teacher exhibits good creativity in many instructional aspects, the use of technology-based learning media remains limited. This research is expected to serve as a reference for future studies and provide recommendations for school leaders to support technology integration, as well as encourage teachers to adopt digital learning media to enhance student understanding and engagement.
